At The Gage Lab LLC, precision isn't just what we deliver. It's who we are. Founded in 2021 in East Tennessee, we design and build custom dimensional measuring systems and fixtures that help manufacturers solve their toughest measurement challenges.
The Gage Lab was founded on a simple observation — the Southeast had no shortage of manufacturers, but a serious shortage of people who truly understood precision measurement from the inside out.
Most of what passed for gage support in this region was a sales house. Someone taking an order and shipping a product from a catalog. Nobody who could walk your floor, look at your print, and tell you exactly how to measure it.
That gap is why The Gage Lab exists.
Our founder spent over two decades in the gage trade. Not behind a desk, but in the field, solving real problems for real manufacturers across the country. Designing and building custom measurement solutions. Servicing equipment when production was on the line. Getting called into plants where all hope was nearly lost and figuring it out.
In 2021 he brought all of that to Jefferson City, Tennessee — deliberately, strategically, because the Southeast manufacturing base deserved better than what it was getting.
What makes us different isn't just what we build. It's how we think.
We measure in millionths of an inch. We work in tolerances most shops won't touch. We understand that the customer can make good parts or bad parts. We have to be right. Every time. No exceptions.
We're a small team of people who take that responsibility seriously.
Larry, our senior gage builder, has spent decades at the surface grinder developing the kind of mechanical problem-solving instinct that can't be taught in a classroom. When a build hits an obstacle, Larry finds a way around it and gets it done right.
Jason is a fully licensed journeyman toolmaker whose background is rooted in tool and die — a craft that runs in his family. He brings that lineage and precision to every project he touches.
And Jon, our founder, will personally answer the phone when you need someone.
We're not the biggest name in the business. We're the ones who show up, do the work right, and make sure you never have to worry about your gages again.
